Centro dell’alta Valle Stura, diviso in due nuclei e allungato sulla riva destra del torrente omonimo e sulla Strada Statale del Turchino. Il territorio comunale di Masone si eleva sino al Bric del Dente, che da 1107 m offre un suggestivo panorama sulla Riviera e su Genova. L’ampia piazza del Castello è il cuore del “paese vecchio”, il borgo antico di Masone. La piazza ha preso il posto del Castello, distrutto nel 1747 dalle armate austro-piemontesi. Ai bordi c’è l’antica chiesa parrocchiale di Masone, con a fianco il convento agostiniano costruito alla fine del Cinquecento e sede del CIVICO MUSEO “A.TUBINO”. Masone, posto al centro di due parchi, ad est il PARCO NATURALE DELLE CAPANNE DI MARCAROLO (tel. 0143.684777 www.parcocapanne.it) e ad ovest il Parco del Beigua, offre numerosi itinerari segnalati, anche attraverso l’ALTA VIA DEI MONTI LIGURI ( www.altaviadeimontiliguri.it), trekking, MTB e maneggi per cavalli.

Center of the Valle Stura, divided into two unit and extended on the right bank of the river with the same name and on State Road Turchino. The municipality of Masone rises until Bric del Dente which, at 1107m, offers a picturesque view on Genoa and the seaside. The wide square of the Castle is the heart of the “old country”, the ancient village of Masone. The square has taken the place of the castle, destroyed in 1747 by the Austro-Piemontesi forces. In the square there is the ancient parish church of Masone, alongside with the Augustinian convent built in the late sixteenth century and seat of the CIVIC MUSEUM “A. TUBINO”. Masone is placed at the center of two parks, at East NATURAL PARK “CAPANNE DI MARCAROLO” (tel. 0143 684777 www.parcocapanne.it) and at West Park Beigua. The Park offers numerous marked trails, including the ALTA VIA DEI MONTI LIGURI (www.altaviadeimontiliguti.it), trekking, mountain biking and horse riding.
